Basic Tournament Orientation (BTO)

The Basic Tournament Orientation (BTO) is developed to ensure that all participants for SPNS are competent to play competitive paintball. This orientation course is endorsed by the Paintball Association of Singapore (PBAS). In this course, participants will learn about paintball safety and paintball marker handling so as to ensure a safe playing environment for everyone. In this two-hour orientation course, participants will be required to undergo a theory test and a practical session of safety in paintball on and off the playing field. Participants who do not meet the necessary requirement will not be allowed to participate in the SPNS.

Cost - $35.90 per participant (Paintballs included with Player's ID card for the participant’s first leg of the SPNS if registered with a team).

Player's ID tag is endorsed by Paintball Association (Singapore) for SPNS and all PBAS organized tournaments.

*Participants of the SPNS will only need to attend the BTO once. Participants who have previously attended the will only need to pay for the Player's ID tag.

Basic Marshalling Orientation (BMO)

The Basic Marshalling Orientation (BMO) is a one-day orientation developed to introduce participants to the basics of refereeing paintball games at the Singapore Paintball Novice Series (SPNS). The orientation will be conducted by the Paintball Association of Singapore (PBAS). In this course, participants will learn about tournament rules and how to apply them on the field. There will be a theory and practical session where participants will be assessed and certified to officiate in the SPNS. All BMO participants will be endorsed to officiate SPNS and all PBAS organized tournaments.

Participants who have passed the BMO will be paid for their services when officiating during SPNS 2009.

* Participants of the SPNS who undergo the BMO will not be allowed to officiate in the SPNS.

Paintball Techniques Workshop - Conducted by Francis Lucena

Francis Lucena, also known fondly on the field as Kiko, has been playing paintball competitively for six years. Well known in Asia for his killer instincts, Francis is currently a front player for the relatively new Division 2 Philippines paintball team named the Real Pinoys. The team has been participating regional paintball tournaments actively. With a near unbeaten run in the qualifying rounds, the Real Pinoys also clinched the Champion title at the World Cup Asia 2008 in Division 2.
